Frequently asked questions
Is this tool free?
Yes. Calchemy tools are free to use in your browser.
Is my data uploaded?
No. The tools are designed to run locally in your browser unless clearly stated otherwise.
What do the four types mean?
Protanopia and deuteranopia are red-green color blindness types (reduced sensitivity to red or green respectively), tritanopia is blue-yellow color blindness, and achromatopsia is complete color blindness (seeing only in greyscale).
How accurate is this simulation?
It uses standard approximation matrices commonly used for color-blindness previews. It's a useful guide for design decisions, not a clinical diagnostic tool.
